AC-DC Adaptor fit Lilliput ?

Hi,

Ive got an AC-DC Adaptor which Im wondering if it will suit the 7-inch Lilliput.

It has a volt-switch where I can choose between 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, and 12 Volt (Im guessing I should go for 9 Volt?).

It also has a polarity-switch. Which polarity should I choose: the plus for the casing (outside), or the plus for the hole (inside)?

The label says:

AC-DC Adaptor
PRI: 230V ~ 50Hz
SEC: 1.5V -... 200mA (the sign is actually a horisontal bar with three dots below it)
3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, 12 V -... 500mA (same sign here)

ps. I asked a similar question a while back referring to another AC-adaptor. Unfortunately Im too ignorant when it comes to electronics to translate what I learned from that post to this particular AC-DC adaptor.

You'll want to switch it to 12v but i doubt whether 500mA will be enough. You may get away with it. The positive is in the inside of the connector for the lilliput.

Just out of curiousity - what would happen if the polarities got reversed?

Ouch - no, dont want that to happen!

So is this what usually happens to people here who got their screens fried, or is it usually due to the irregularity of the current you get out of the car-battery?

Btw, dont they usually put diodes into electronics to make sure the current can only flow in one direction?

(Im trying to read up on some basic electronics, so youll have to excuse me if I ask the most moronic questions

)

Assuming that your lilliput is the same 7" touch screen that I am using... it requires 12VDC... so the 9V setting will not be enough juice... so to speak... I have actually installed mine... and removed the DC voltage regulator supplied with the unit... (It burnt out because and I could not find a replacement...)so I have approx 14VDC feeding the screen... it's been installed for 2months... no problems at all... used daily... for approx 2hrs a day...
