Lilliput LCD - Is it really VGA? If so where to buy (US)?

I have a6.4" VGA LCD Kit from earthcomputer. It's true VGA w/ onboard controller. The picture quiality is that of a good flat-panel LCD computer monitor many people use for desktops. But here's my problem

I think it may have died. I shorted out the backlight inverter a while back. I know for a fact because the silicon board was litterally burnt. So I bought a new one. It is most likely the controller that has gone bad. A new conrtoller is $200 - $250. I was thinking of selling the working parts on ebay, or here and just buying a lilliput LCD. Is it possible to find a lilliput at this price (~$250US Dollars)? and is it "real vga" or is there a composition coversion that happens?

Armen has a 7" VGA screen for $230 here, however it is NOT a touchscreen. A touchscreen will set you back an extra $100 or so.

This isn't VGA->Composite video is it? "True" VGA (sorry I don't know how to explain it), right?

The backlight inverter works so I would sell that as well. If I decide to sell it for $250.

Can anyone explain why these "kits" from earthcomputer are 5x more than the lilliput and Arman? The kit I have display is crystal clear. Even 4pt text looks tack sharp. Is this what I'd expect with a Lilliput or Arman?

earthlcd is the biggest ripoff on the net.
they want 410.00 just for your panel?? what a joke.
wholesale is only 190.00 new, and that panel hasn't been new for years.
anyway, 250.00 is more than I would pay for that panel.
I do have the correct controller in stock for it, though if you are interested.
Mine has both rca and vga inputs, and I assume yours is vga only?
comes with osd, lcd controller, all needed cables and a 12 volt dc regulator.
225.00 shipped. add 25.00 for a/c adapter for home use.
all items are new, with doa warranty.

I suggested $250 with only the original price as a reference point (even though it's condition mint). Can you send me a link with a more detailed description of your controller? Do you have a website? Sounds nice. OSD sure beats the buttons and pots used on the controller from earthlcd.

Could I still use my inverter with that conrtroller and are the connections the same (from board to panel)? I saw that the pictured 10.4" LCD panel has only one flouresant lamp. Mine has two. Is this going to be a problem?

you would need to use your inverter, but for power output reasons. the 10.4" in the pictures use 2 lamps, and are 200 and 350 nits bright. I am out of inverters for the high bright, but your inverter will work with no probelms.
the lcd cable is identical, and I can send you spec sheets for your panel and mine to compare. the input voltage and signal mapping is the same.
your inverter connector will need to be spliced into the inverter cable for my board, but I can handle this for you. just send me the model # of your inverter, and I can supply the correct cable, making this a true plug and play setup.
