This forces you to send it in for repair, and then they would replace $0.50 worth of diodes, and send it back for $100 repair charge.
Just my thoughts
to say a lilli is made cheaply is putting it mildly. These things are absolute garbage. The input wires are soldered direct on the controller, and then a bead of hot glue is applied over the wires to help prevent movement. The soldering loks like 5 year olds did it. Now a xenarc uses a nice smt connector, and although I would not call a xenarc a quality unit either (but definately better than lilli) they are assembled better.
I have a few lilli's in for repairs right now, and after looking at several different units, and from what I have found out on the web, these units are using touch lcd panels pulled from used pachino machines.
Another problem seems to be heat. Very minimal cooling, and I think this is contributing to the large number of failed units. This has been evident on most of the units I have opened. The lcd panels show signs of excessive heat, and the controllers always look burned. Of course, the lcd panels are also dirty from being pulled, so the heat damage may have been from the pac machines.
All in all, the old saying is still true...you get what you pay for.
I understand most people who buy these monitors are on strict budgets, but I feel saving for a quality monitor is better in the long run.
buying a 280.00 unit, having it fail in 2-3 months, and then replacing it is like spending the same money on a high quality monitor.
just my opinion, but I have always believed that there are some things you should just spend the extra $$ on.
why buy it twice?
