Fix For Unresponsive Usb Touch Screen
Hey,
If you're getting messages from users complaining that the touch screen feature of their screen stops responding, there is a pretty simple fix.
ISSUE: Touch screen works for a few minutes, but when inactive for 2-3 minutes, it will no longer work.
FIX: Go into Device Manager and expand the USB controllers tree. Look for "USB Root Hub" entries, right click, and choose the power tab. Look in the "attached devices" and determine if the USB Touchscreen controller is attached to this hub (if not, repeat this process on one of the other USB hubs). IF the screen is attached to this port, click on the "Power Management" tab and remove the checkmark beside the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". The touch screen will now work as expected, even after being left unattended. You can still use screen savers and utilities that power down the screen.
Also a side note - this screen looks great at 640x480, but is nearly useless as 800x600.
