Dude....relax
You have to open up the case to see the ribbon cable. You might want to just send it back

My first guess is that his computer is freezing up and it has nothing to do with his touchscreen at all. I get those calls all day at work. "My mouse isn't working!!!!" Then after the reboot, the computer has fresh resources and all is good. I want to know how much memory he has installed, what apps are running at the time of the error, go into task manager and tell us what you CPU Usage is at.

AM working on P3 512 MB ram.
the system is working finee with the mouse EVEN when the TOUCH SCREEN stops responding . WEll this happens with all applicatins.
MEDIA ENGINE and for that matter even if its JUST WINDOWS on the main screen with out any other application running.
and CPU useage is 54% ONLY
Just opened up the casing and I see no RIBON damage. ( and IF thre was a damage of RIBON wire ;; the touch screen would not work at all ) but in my case its working for a few mts before it stops
HELP PLSSSSSSSSSS

what other software do you have running that use com port/s resources ?
Bluetooth software is notoriously problematic with liliput touchscreens
and cpu usage at 54% is high

ok let me correct myself, maybe its not the bluetooth software as such but the driver stack behind it that seems to create a touchscreen issue, normally a simple uninstall of the bluetooth software, install touchscreen and then calibrate touchscreen as per the instructions on the cd / file that came with the touchscreen, then once thats working reinstall the bluetooth software / drivers and all seems 100%

man you use capitals in very WEIRD situations WHEN theres no need. lol
As for your problem, have you tried the screen on another PC? That would either confirm it is the touchscreen or the PC your using it on.

do you have any updates installed on XP ? and what about other USB devices ? usb / serial convertors ? think anything that uses com ports, do some basic troubleshooting, ie when the touchscreen pauses, do a ctrl-alt-del and then go to task manager and see what process / application has hung / is not responding / is using lots of resources this will help figure it out, I have found too many times the hardware is blamed unnecessarily for a simple software issue, the fact it comes to life when plug / unplug performed makes me think its maybe a usb driver / power issue.
