Noise in Lilliput from HDD

Hi,

I have Lilliput installed into my dash and PC in the trunk connected to monitor with VGA extender (normal, single shielded), when hdd is doing smthing, image is affected by this, its, making some noise in sync with HDD, when HDD is idle (on, but not searching) image is clear.

what do you thin the problem is? is it a good VGA cable needed (thick triple shielded)? I have temprarly removed the lillput regulator it has on the power cable (I have burnt it), maybe this is the problem? Maybe VGA cable is close to power cable (but image is behaving only when HDD is acting).

did anybody have a same problem?

I have that problem also. When the harddisk is reading, the lilliput flickers. I sitll use the lilliput regulator and it is giving me the same problem. My vga cable runs with the power line.

I'm building shchua's regulator to see if it helps with the flickering

Do you think it is the power problem? or VGA cable?

I'd say its the power..... try to always put power cords on one side of car, and sound, and video cords on other side.

but no good shielding will help? As I undertand there is some elecromagnetic field around the power cord, that interfers with vga cable. doe this field change, when HDD is reading, so it is visible on the monitor? because when HDD is not reading or writing, image is clear, though VGA cable is still near power cord.

I couldnt take my lilliput out of the car install yet. But if you could, zvi, try plugging the lilliput from the wall adapter, run the power cable with the video cable and see if it still does this. If it doesnt, then its a car power problem (that egg shaped adapter). If it does, then its interference from the power cord
