Just curious as to whether it's possible to get replacement ribbons for the lcd... I have an old laptop, and the ribbon is ripped, otherwise the laptop is in great condition...
I'd like to mount it in my car, but I need to get a new ribbon first... it's an Acer 515TE laptop...
also, anyone had any success on extending these types of ribbons?

I asked a question on dansdata.com a while ago and he said no, it cant be done, extensions dont work. Seems to me it might work, I was also told you cant do VGA cable over 20m also but then our church had about a 50m cable and it worked fine....

okay... what about the replacement though... any idea where to find one? i tried ebay ... no such luck... would acer provide one? i doubt it because to install it... you'd have to open case

my church uses songbase
great software
you can print off charts... transpose them etc... it's a great tool...

Im not involved in the tech there anymore, I got too busy, they are still using powerpoint, Im sure there would be better cheaper solutions.
