looked around, and didnt notice a question like mine; I want to extend the eye for the remote control on my lilliput, but I wouild prefer not to open the case. Is there another way or product that can extend the infared signal? I was thinking possibly using a fiber optic cable, but I am not sure how this would work.
There are infared repeaters for home use. I assume the use some kind of DC power or batteries. Are you looking for something like this: http://www.hometech.com/infrared/extenders.html you could probably find a smaller one more suitable for in car use :-D
If you're good at building electronic circuits, this will do exactly what you want, probably a bunch cheaper than those big ones in the link.
Again, it's a little technical, but it sounds like what you're looking for.
