How to adjust brightness etc after molding Xenarc bezel into dash?

For all you guys that have used your bezel in fabricating a custom dash piece (Gork, for example), how do you deal with the screen reverting back to its factory settings since you no longer have the buttons available to push?

For example, the factory brightness setting is 33 but I like to have it up near 90 for better viewing. I haven't quite figured out what makes the screen revert to factory settings, but it occasionally does. It is no problem at the moment because I have access to the settings buttons on the front of the bezel. I am in the process of making a custom dash mount though and will no longer have access to the buttons anymore. How do you all deal with this problem???

you can try soldering extensions so that you can have the buttons elsewhere.

or you can fab it so the buttons are still there.

The Xenarc doesn't have IR...or else it wouldn't be a problem...

my 700TSV occasionally reverts to factory brightness of 33 also. I called mp3car store and they deferred to Xenarc.com's support. Spoke to a guy there and he suggested trying a different refresh rate. I've been running 800x600 @ 75Hz...I guess I'll try a different RR for a while and see if I still get this...
