Lilliput touchscreen problem
I recently received my Lilliput 7" touchscreen. I tried to test it on my computer but the touch screen just doesnt work. I installed the touchkit that came with it from the cd. Then windows automatically installed the driver when i plugged it in. Device manager says its working properly and so does the touchkit program. The only thing it doesnt do is work.... is it broken?

Uninstall, reinstall, uninstall, etc. For many, the drivers need to be flushed back and forth a few times before they work.

no luck , I flushed and installed it 4 times. I even tried the beta version just in case, but it didnt work. I'm gonna try it on a non-xp machine... maybe XP is just being stupid like it often is.
Another question, how do you make it so the image on the screen isn't widescreen? or is that just the way it is?

Well it doesnt work on a windows 2000 machine either... so i'm assuming my touchscreen is broken unless you guys have any other ideas. I did figure out how to make the resolution right though, using a program called powerstrip. Let me know if you guys have any other input, if not i'll just go ahead and send it back.

I thought the same....and all of a sudden it started working again. You may have to calibrate (4 point and 25 point) several times to get it working. Try a little longer

If the touchscreen iteself was disconnected from the touchscreen board would the computer still recognize the touchscreen as enabled and working properly? I've heard alot about random wires getting disconnected in these lcds so maybe thats it?

I had the same problem when I got mine, but at least mine worked for about a week...ended up being the signal cable that goes from the screen to the vga/usb connectors...something in the din-9 connector they use is a POS

I bought it from logic supply and its been 2 days and no response to e-mail, i'm going to call them later today. I heard somewhere on the forum that they were one of the reliable companies? I'm a little bit wary about opening it up since that would probably void any warranty that is on it....

I know that logic supplies website if you type the address in a post will get ******'d out, like the admins don't want us talking about it or something...I don't know why they do it exactly?

I had the same sort of problem, Got everything installed then did the touch kit install and nothing. I ran a search on here and found one guy that the pins on the screen side of the connecter were bent and not pushing into the proper holes. I looked and sure as ***** mine were bent too. Bent the pin back a little and bam, everything is good in da hood. Might want to check those pin alignments.

Tehy've already sent back a replacement, I was thinking about doing what you said but i figured if that wasnt the problem opening it would make it so I couldnt return it (if they had some way to find out). Better safe than sorry.
