Xenarc 10.4" 500nit indash install !!!!
After reading the whole forum back and forth for a week and searching on the web, I could not find any 10.4" LCD or raw module with anything brigher then 260nit that is under $700.
Xenarc has a 10.4" screen that is 500nit, 800x 600 SVGA resolution, VGA Input (15 pin D-SUB), S-Video Input, AV Input, and Built-In TV Tuner. All for $600.
http://www.xenarc.com/product/1040vt.html
The only problem is the whole screen including the case is a bit too big to fit my dash. All the raw 10.4" modules I have seen are only about 9" x 7", do you guys think I could take the Xenarc screen out of its case so that I could fit my dash ?
Do you guys think this screen is good ? Any better suggestions ?
My vehicle is a minivan and after measuring, my dash should be able to fit anything under 10" x 8".
Here is more information on my vehicle:

Way better than Mr. T's van
You must be either very rich or very handy, my guess is option 1

10.4
I too am looking at this screen as an option. I have a dash space big enough to fit the screen and would love the extra screen real estate. If I did not have a ton of bills to worry about I would just spring for the $600 but this is a little pricey. I nevermind spending money on quality, and i think this is a good deal. What ever happend to the Allbrite though?? I see references to it throughout this forum but none of the links work anymore, I have also been despritely watching ebay for a 10.4 touch, nothing at the moment (ecspecially bright enough). Anyone have ideas on what else is avail?
Thanks
-B
PS What did happen to the Allbrite?

I've seen plenty of hooked up minivans on the net, but that coffee table rings a bell. Either I've seen your ride on cardomain.com or in one of my import car magazines (super street,s.c.c., etc.). Anyway, it mite all be I.C.E., but he gets props for being different.
p.s. the odyssey is the best looking minivan (imo)

I will be offering a 10.4" Albrite for sale on ebay tomorrow. Has rca and vga, includes ac and dc power supplies, vga cable, osd board, lcd controller and inverters. zero dead pixels, no scratches, etc. screen is used, but the controller kit, power supplies, cables and inverters are all new. 385.00 will be the shipped price. add Armen's touch kit and you will have a 1300nit 800x600 touchscreen monitor for 500.00

i do give you respect for doing your own thing, but sorry, i just have to laugh at a lowered mini van. its like gettoing up a reliant. some things you just leave well alone.
if you lived near me, I would slap a "soccer mom" sticker on it. lol.

haha.....well if you open your small eyes then you will see i am not the only one. Just because people around you are not doing it doesn't mean it's wrong.
minivan in Japan are just as popular if not more then other cars such as sedan and sports cars. If you go to Japan, you can even see people doing up american vans such as Astro vans. Of coz, this come down to taste. But i think it would be foolish to stereotype a van with soccer mom. It's just like stereotyping your Honda Civic with Ricer.
And thanks everyone for their compliments. I do like doing things differently, that's why I chose to setup a computer system. When I told many people about it for the first time, they think I am stupid and wasting time. But after they know more about it, they actually all want one in thier car..lol

ohh, my eyes are open. I just don't like lowered cars. matter of personal taste. just looks more wierd to me to see a mini van lower. as I said from the start, giving you respect in doing your own thing :-)
