Having to re-install drivers

I recently purchased an 8 inch touchscreen Lilliput. Its working perfectly however I have to take the screen out of the car from time to time for security reasons and whenever I plug the screen in and power up the PC it tells me it has found new software and I have to install the drivers again. I have done this 3 times already. Should I keep having to do this? Or does anyone know of a workaround?

I dont see a work around because its a USB device and they are pretty dynamic with their drivers and functionality. it should find them for you automatically though.

If you power windows down completely before removing the usb plug and always plug it into the same port before the pc powers up then I cant see how windows would be able to tell it was removed.

What version of windows are you running? Also, if you're powering it completely off, then pulling the screen, and you're not powering it up before you replace them, it shouldn't do that. If you just leave it all plugged in, power it down all the way then power it back up, does it do the same thing?
