Taking it apart and putting a lilliput or xenarc inside ? What challenges would await inside? I am an engineer so I'm thinking it couldn't be too hard to figure out ? I'd put the main board from the lilli inside the dash and extend the ribbon cable to the monitor. Is this feasible?
No. First, there is just too much going on inside the motorized unit to try and do what you suggest. You have the motor/frame assembly, power leads, video cable, at least 1 control board, maybe 2, etc. Second, let's say for ****s and giggles that you were actually able to extend the Lilli's ribbon cable yourself, you still need to run the wires for the backlight (A/C voltage, not to be treated lightly), and the wires for the touch panel. Then, there's the OSD board to deal with. Now, after doing this, you will have to deal with the lcd controller, backlight inverter and touch controller as far as mounting them. I don't know if you have taken a Lilli apart, but if not, let me tell you, they are delicate, fragile and above all else, very poorly assembled. Basically a POS.
I would think that removing the lcd, osd baord, etc. from the frame, and then installing the Lilli crap into it would require less work. This way, all you really have to run through the chassis would be the USB and VGA wires since the power and composite video wires already exist. However, since the unit you reference is not touch, and has that clock thing on it, it looks like the lcd shell may be too thin to hold all the Lilli's guts.
If you have not already, go to

Armen sells empty in dash housing (non-motorized) and has very detailed instructions on how to install a Lilli or Xenarc into them.
