Question Da Hookup

What's up. I'm a newbie here so I am going to ask a stupid newbie question. I have a laptop with a cracked screen so I removed the screen. I also have a portable DVD player that can't read cd's anymore for some reason. I want to connect that portable DVD player screen to the laptop. Is it possible? I can try and post more detailed info if you need. Thanks guys.

Good question, but comes with the vague "it depends"

It depends on if the DVD player has a Video Input. I know my portable doesn't have a video in, just video out.

Also depends on if the Laptop has a composite video out. If it doesn't then you would have to have a VGA to Composite scan converter. These boxes are common, but usually kinda steep and require a power adapter.

Now if you were to take the laptop and connect it to a lilliput monitor through the VGA you could use it, also if you have a USB port on the laptop you could get a touchscreen and use the comp that way.

Hope that helps a little.

Thanks mindscream. As you can see I'm a newbie and I asked a newbie question. I was trying to see if I could still use the screen from the portable dvd player but it looks like a lilliput is the was to go. Also, any recomendations on touchscreens or are lilliputs touchscreens?
