This is perfect! I've been wracking my brain trying to think of a good place to put a second lilliput in my car, this one dedicated just for guidance. This is ideal! It's out of the way when I dont need it, I can turn it on and off with ease, it can be a touchscreen. I see no drawbacks.

Well, one maybe. What about when the sun is coming through the driver's side window, you cant turn the visor to the left like you would normally do because then the lilli would be in direct sunlight. In that respect, when the visor is flipped down just so you can see it, wont teh back of it be in direct sunlight as well? Being in Miami, direct sunlight would be a major problem... wouldn't it?

Any thoughts of putting a teeny fan in there, or do you think that heat wouldn't be a problem?

This should probably be moved to the fabrication forum if it gets a sticky.

I have the bezel completed. I was working with one of the guys at the shop at my work. He is learning how to operate mills. Anyways it tried about 8 times until he finally got something that worked and looked good. I got it back this weekend and worked on mounting it to the front of the sunvisor. What i did was drill 4 small holes in each corner on the back side of the bezel. Then i took 4 1/72 screws and grinded the head off. I epoxied them into the holes. I then painted the bezel with 3 coates of black primer waiting 30 mintes between each coat and wetsanding with 1000 grit. The paint turned out excellent. Then I secured the screen with matching nuts on the inside. this all worked out really well. I will post pictures of it soon. This part is almost complete. I just need 1 more 1/72 sized nut before i can seal this up.

The last thing i need to do is work on the button labels. I got some iron on printer paper and i am going to try it on some similar material after i am satified with the look of the buttons.

This project is taking forever but i don't have much free time these days. I will post updated pictures soon.

Pop out some holes in the back. You wont need a fan

First post write up updated. Pics of this process i will add soon

So i worked out the button labeling. It turns out that T-Shirt Transfer labeling works perfectly.

I had a spare set of sunvisors that i tried this process on.

I used Avery Inkjet T-Shirt Transfers (Item 3275) To print out out some buttons I designed in photoshop.

When you print them out you have to print the mirror image (You can use the document i attached for buttons if you wish). You can do this by flipping the image in photoshop or if you printer has that option.

Next cut out your labels. Crop it as small as you can, i used an exacto knife and a metal straight edge for good clean cuts. Put the label on the sunvisor in the right spot. It might be a good idea to use some tape to hold it in place.

Next you have to iron it on. Since the labels were so small and using an clothing iron would be tedious i busted out my soldering gun and put a dime over the label and heated up the dime. This worked out really well. After heating for about 30-45 seconds in a circular motion i let it cool down and peeled of the label. Thats it!!!

Here is an image of the stock i used

Here is what it looks like printed out

A picture of the ironing process

Final Product. This picture looks blury becasue of my camera. I will try to get a better shot of the end result

I have yet to do this on the actual lilliput visor but after such great test results i should have it done by this weekend.

Here are a couple clearer shots. This was my first attempt. I think i could get a nicer result from a cleaner cutting job.
