where should i go to get a cable?

I'm looking to get an extension cable for the lilliput, however where should i go to get the cable?

I have found these places that carry a mini din 9 pin cable
http://www.stockcable.com/minidin.shtml
http://www.computerplug.com/cable_mo...s-ext-tech.htm
http://www.mp3car.com/store/product_...products_id=46

And this place that carries a rgb extension cable
http://www.pccables.com/cgi-bin/orde...search=MONITOR

I have already gotten this cable from cablewholesale
http://www.cablewholesale.com/cgi-bi...text=minidin+9

The cable that i have does not work that good because it does not transmit red, all the other colors come in fine and the picture is sharp, just no red.(i do get red if i dont use the cable)

I already have a usb cable run to the front of my car so running a rgb ext. cable is not a problem for me.

What i would like to know is which place would i get a good reliable cable from as far as the min din 9 pin cable is concerned? Has any one else gotten cables from any of theses places that they would recommend?

Or should I just run a rgb cable? would i notice any difference between the rgb and the mini din cable?

Thanks

The cable that is on sale here is only 6 feet long, I would think you would need a longer cable if the computer is in the trunk.

That is what i noticed too. call me paranoid but I want to make sure that the cable that I get will work, i guess what im looking for is first hand experience with that cable.

I'm sure mp3car.com will sell me a quality product that will work. I'd just like to hear what other peoples experiences have been

Also, are the ones at mp3car.com actually 6ft? because the ones i got from cable warehouse were more like 9, even though the invoice said six footers

I will need about a 9 feet of cable to do the run in my car

I agree with you. I just ordered that same cable from here today for $9.99. I hope I don't have the same problem you have, because those 2 cables are identical. Even the store display pictures look the same. Time will tell tho.
If it doesn't work out I will be ordering this one http://www.computerplug.com/cable_mo...s-ext-tech.htm
I'm almost 99.9% sure this is the correct one.

Just received a 12 foot extension from stockcable.com. Shipping was as much as the damn cable, but got here quick. Would have got it here if they had 12 footers. Tests out perfect no loss of Video or USB signal. Still sitting on the test bench though, hope this stays true in my ride.

Check Pin one for continuity...if you want to fix it the pinout for RGBHV is:

pin 1=Red signal
pin 2=Green signal
pin 3=Blue
Pins 6-10 Ground
Pin 13 Horizontal signal
Pin 14 Vertical signal

Ok i feel like an *** now
One of my cables does not work, the other does
After checking pin 1 on both cables i discoverd that one of them didnt work. I thought i hooked up both cables individually but i guess i didnt.
Soo.... I got one good cable and one bad from that place
Is there anyway i can repair this bum cable so i have an extra? or is it not worth the effort

I still think im going to get a higher quality cable because the one that does work seems to be casting a slight ghost in the image.

I would say not worth it man. Hard to find a break in a cable, I know from pullin' damn cat5. That's the pits though, but hey it was only $10 right?
