Strange Xenarc Calibration Issue

Ok, I've ed and read for hours, but didn't find anyone with this particular issue.

I've had my Xenarc 700TSV in my car for a little over a year now, and it's been working perfectly until just recently. It has started acting funny when first coming up.

When I first touch it after the OS is up, sometimes the cursor is to the right of my finger about 1/2 inch. Same results when I use a stylus. After I touch it about 10 or 15 times, it gets back on track. Sometimes it takes about 20 or 30 times to do the trick.

It doesn't do this every time, and there is no noticable pattern as to when it's going to happen (heat, rain, how long the car has been off, etc.) Has anyone else seen this problem. What could it be?

I have a similar problem, it's off on one side of the screen, but as you start touching towards the other side it gets better and better untill its right on track. I've found that by turning on my AC and blowing cold air over the unit it usualy fixes itself after a few minutes. I think it's a loose wire going to the touchscreen somewhere. Sometimes the touchscreen stops responding entirely. You can try opening it up and wiggling the touchscreen connectors and that might help.

Be carefull if you open it up. The last time I opened mine up, some hot glue that held the speaker in place melted onto a component on my backlight inverter. It tore off the PCB when I removed the back cover.

It may be that heat has finally gotten the better of it, and it is slowly starting to die. I dunno, but I don't want to buy another one, even if they ar $200 less than I gave for mine a year ago.

Heat. As the weather gets warmer, sunlight is the TS's worst enemy! It usually starts with a small calibration error that goes away, and then suddently stays forever and you need a new TS.

wow. that's pretty crappy. I mean, heat and sunlight... how do you avoid that in your car?!? My TS has only been in for less than 6 months... I'd have to buy a new TS every half a year?
