Do you need a very compact graphic fan controller?

I have been searching for a really small fan controller with some cool graphics (eye candy) for a while. The problem is that I have a very small area to place it in, and most of them have large pcb's with knobs or buttons on them. Then I found this one sweeeet! Well pretty sweet, the clock is kind of small (I have one anyway) and the date is yyyy/mm/dd (also on my clock) , that's weird. But it has a cool spinning fan on the display, three selectable fan's cpu, hd and system, each one has its own temperature probe. It also has a temperature alarm that you can set. It has a hd status display (same function as led on the front of a pc), Oddly enough it even has an alarm clock, and a few other functions.

So if you have wanted to add something like this to your car, but didn't think that you had enough room, maybe this one will work for you. I have measured it, for those interested.

SilverStone Eudemon SST-FP52-S right out of the box.

Disassembled:
I put the quarter in there for comparison. The knobs were hot glued on so I used a lighter to remove them. The knobs are a aluminum shell with a plastic insert, so they were slightly damaged but they could be hot glued back on. You will either have to remove the knobs or cut the bracket to get them out. The buttons are on a separate pcb, I like that, it will be so easy to put the buttons anywhere I want. The backup battery (3 volts I think) is also on its on pcb (easy relocation).

Now for the sweet part, the speed of the fan graphic changes with the actual fan speed and of course you can control the fan speed. It has a pretty big temperature display that can be changed to Fahrenheit or Celsius. I didn't have everything connected when I took this photo, that's why there's no power or hd status.

Ok, here are the dimensions as promised.

I have other projects to finish so I put it back together. It's going to be a while before I can get around to installing this, but I look forward to having the CPU temperature at a glance.

I hope this is helpful to someone.

That's SWEET!!!!
Although you can do this with a character LCD and speedfan... But this is damn small!!!
And the buttons are on separate PCB!!!
Are they normal push buttons?

Can the fan speed be controlled automatically (dependable to CPU or SYS temp)???

Is suppose it can stop the fans... 0V

How long can the wires for the temp sensors be?? (trunk to dash)

Also could 6-12V be variable? Or does it give 6 OR 12??

I need to make the wires longer also. I plan to lengthen one and put all the probes in the same place to compare the temperature difference. However I didnt plan on going as far as you. I will probably end up extending the wires about 5-6 feet. Do you have any idea how long you would need the wires to be? Maybe I could test at the length that you would need.

It runs off the pc power supply. The 12v is for the fans and back light. The 5v is for every thing else.

I have two places, one is in the overhead console where my clock is now, but then I will have to relocate the clock. The other would be where the ashtrey is now (I like this better).

I got it from newegg $32.99

is it possible to display other than the pre-set. Think it could be used as a standard LCD if you attached a parallel cable to specific pins?

I think I will need about 13 feet of each cable!!! AT least!!!

I meant if the volts that are for the fan could be changed at different amount!! So that you cacn control the fans at any speed up to 6V!!

Why? Are you planning to buy one? I don't plan to install this any time soon, but I could do a test if you need me to. Let me know.

Good news! I extended one of the temp. sensors by 25 feet (the whole spool), with 22 guage stranded wire, and yes I did solder the connections. The temp. reads exactly the same as the others (not extended). So it looks like you are good to go DjBac.
