Yes I know, its (almost) useless for Lilliput/Xenarcs. 848x480 has however, its taste on my HTPC. Anyway, now I am working on VIA yet to get the driver to support 800x480.
So just shut up and wait.

Supported resolutions for the epiaM

Hey folks,

I thought this was interesting. The wizards creating the linux drivers for the CLE266 chipset in our epiaMs have extracted the supported video resolutions from the 1.13 and 1.16 bios in this post and surprise, surprise no 800x480. I guess this supports what others have said all along... we need a new bios revision.

848x480 is no more useful than 800x600 or 640x480 or any other non-native resolution for lilliput and Xenarcs. It may be fine for HTPC but none of us are here for that.

I wish you luck in getting VIA to release an 800x480 driver. LOL until then I will take your advice and "shut up and wait"! Cheers

I am going to try ATI 9200 tomorrow. I am happy with 848x480 but its not 800x480. I am a perfectionist so... it'll do for now but I am going to die till I get something right.

Wow this thread's getting long. I read pages 1-5 then just jumped to page 11. Either way, good talk guys.... Wish I had the 7" widescreen actually, I like the widescreen look better. Unfortunately, my dash just happened to be just perfect for a 4:3 8" Lilli, so no messing with 800x480 for me. Either way, just wanted to congratulate everyone on this 11 page thread on resolution! <seriously, don't flame me, I'm not being a smartass here>

It's not really a resolution. More of an annoying workaround. It I ever go the xenarc route I'm out of luck since I haven't space for any cards at all.

He's talking about an 11 page thread on screen resolution -- not 11 pages to reach a solution.

<witty remark about alleged mental feebleness goes here>
