They asked for help locating one 7" monitor, brand not specified. I came up with a vendor for the Xenarc, nothing for the Lilliput. Any reason to think a chipset would work with one and not the other?

I encourage enyone with access to EPROM flash machine to test the same and share the findings. As soon as you succeed to use MII VBIOS on M10K, you will be able to use MII WinXP drivers.
Update: I have done some testing today and first result is graphics did not initialize correctly for text mode (thus I even can not enter Setup) but afterall the unit is working and it boots up and displays already installed WindowsXP. the bad part is I fail to find 800x480 resolution listed under advanced settings button tab. I guess I will have to install XP from scratch in order to get it. However, its kinda hard work if you are "blind". Will do more testing later on today and tommorow.

Does the MII 10000 for sure do 800x480?

Well the thing is that people with Xenarcs are able to make their monitor detect the correct resolution when displaying 800x480 with thier graphic cards. They have to use some custom timings provided by Xenarc's website. Lilliput has not put out any sort of custom timeings for our lilliput 7" screens. Therefor no matter what us lilliput owners do to achieve 800x480 with the onboard graphics card without the correct timing settings the lilliput monitor will detect something other 800x480 and render the image incorectly

Anm, I do not want to argue with you but there are couple of Lilliput VGA versions. Again, at least mine does 800x480/72 Hz perfectly on graphics up, with no timing cheats. To answer your question you wanna ask: I am not sure now what it displays on OSD, but who cares? I know its 800x480 since it displays all the desktop elements correctly from bottom to top after switching to that resolution.

Keep up the good work! Just so I understand what's going on. The Epia M10000 Bios was patched with the video portion of the Bios from an MII. The monitor wouldn't synch when booting up so you couldn't change any bios settings. Once you booted into XP the monitor would synch again. You installed the video drivers for the MII, but still didn't see 800x480 under the advanced settings. Sound correct? I'm sure that you've thought of this, but if your display during this test was the Lilliput then you might want to try another desktop display to see if it will sych so you can mess around in the bios. I know my desktop monitors will handle alot of resolutions the Lilliput won't. Anyways, thanks for the good work sounds like it's getting real close!

Sorry if this has been suggested already, but, you could always put the monitor into the larger resolution(I think it was said to be 1280x768), and then increase the Font's DPI until it becomes readible.

800x480 is the native resolution of the Lilliput and Xenarc monitors. Basically, everyone here is trying to avoid scaling to get a 1:1 pixel mapping on the displays.

Its not really a best idea ever if you consider low performance of Epia boards. Video playback is CPU/VGA intensive and increasing bandwith on memory bus because of high resolution is unwanted.

The update should be tested next week.
This quote is from Feb 25th. Today is the last day of said "next week".
So the question is, who was doing the BIOS testing referred to (by redwagon), and how did it go? I hope he was not referring to mpattonm's testing. That did not go well due to the miscommunication from which it sprang - and is now a dead end.
If VIA is not working on this we need to turn up the heat.

Wow! After 10 pages of posts on the subject, they STILL DON'T GET IT!
Can you say NATIVE RESOLUTION? Come on, all together now...
