Sure we could instal the lilliput as a xenarc but i dont know how close the timings are or how interchangable they are there.

It will work. It's not a monitor definition file, it's just the resolution.

But yeah anyone got any decent contacts?

Okay i jus wrote to them

feel free to use my text

Hello,

I am writing you today in hopes to sway you to create an updated bios/driver combination that would allow the EPIA M10000 to successfully output the native resolution of the ever so popular 7” LCD sold by both Lilliput and Xenarc which is 800x480.

I use you EPIA for in car computing and multimedia management. It is great for its low power consumption and small footprint, however the current driver bios combo that is available does not support the native resolution of the two LCD’s mentioned above which is 800x480. This is greatly important to me and many others as well. The graphics chipset is fully able to support this resolution but it isn’t available in the list of resolutions in the display properties.

I know there has been several attempts by your company to resolve this but as of today there is nothing that will work short of using the one and only PCI slot for a 3rd party graphics card.

Please begin working a resolution for the resolution problem (<--sorry I couldn’t resist) for the EPIA M10000 series as soon as possible.

Thank you for you time,

Well i am afraid to say that the xenarc people are in luck.

Since our problem is a double headed monster... One head is actually getting the EPIA to output 800x480. The first problem is just a matter of Via releasing some drivers and a new bios.

The second head is getting the lilliput monitor to detect its default resloution (800x840).The second problem is in my opinion the hardest of two for us lilliput owners. The second problem is a matter of getting lilliput to release some custom timing and clocking settings for the monitor so that it will detect 800x480. Xenarc has already done this. Lilliput has not. So us lilliput owners should get on Lilliput about this while we await the driver/bios creation that will support the native resolution.

Does anyone have any good lilliput/Nview contacts?

Do we know whether the changes to BIOS & drivers that are being discussed are only aimed at the 10k board? Will they apply to the EPIA 800 mobos as well?

C!

Try mo@lilliputUK.com, he's the guy who told me that the TS failures were caused by the glue melting between the film and glass.

In my email I mentioned the entire Epia range.

Seems most people however are focusing entirely on the M10k - not a good idea - it's not just the M10k that has the problem, it's EVERY Mini-ITX board made by VIA.

In any further correspondance, please don't specify just one model, mention the whole lot.

Well from my experience, whatever featureset is released for Epia-M is released for all other CLE266 boards as well, just later on.
