IH001 Empty Indash LCD housing - Digital ww

Hey all

I have seen the empty in dash housing for the xenarc/lilliput screen.

However, can this be used without opening the original screen casing, ie by attaching the screen as a whole to the casing? I have searched, lots of different opinions and answers. I dont want to open my xenarc up as it voids warranties, and i just want the unit to slide in and out of the way (and out of sight)

No - the standard Lilli/Xenarc housings are a little wider than the in-dash housing unit.

I assume these in dash housings are DIN sized then?
My stereo that is fitted at the moment is wider than DIN, but assume that its just the faceplate thats larger then, and not the whole unit...

Is it easyish or possible to fit a cage that is bigger than DIN sized with few modifications? i may have to remove the current headunit to have a peek behind it, and see how much space there is :S
