Best monitor for Double Din?

I am trying to figure out which monitor would be the best fit on my dash. If the LCD is too big for my double din then i dont mind taking the casing out and somehow using the LCD only for mounting if possible.
Options so far include:

Lilliput 7" Touchscreen:

Pros:
1. alot of people are using so it cant be bad...also lots of complaints though
2, remote included to adjust screen (this is important if i take casing off)
Cons:
1. the case outside edges arent straight, bottom is rounded. Wouldnt look good on my dash with the case and buttons.
2. Case color is isnt black
3. alot of people are reporting problem with their lillys
4. $279.99

Xenarc 7" Touchscreen
Pros:
1. Has square edges if i decided to use the casing and its black.
2. Although not used as widely (b/c of $$$) the reviews are all GOOD
Cons:
1: $399.99...cost more than my 17" LCD!!!
2. no remote
3. no tutorials on how to disassemble LCD from case
4. want to stay away from b/c of price unless you guys with experience say i will be disappointed with the lilliput or others.

SP7 or starvision touchscreen
Pros:
1. $249.99 (cheapest of the 3)
2. Square edge
3. Remote included
4. Black Casing
Cons:
1. Probably not good a quality, esp. when sun is out

From the 3 i only have dimensions for the Lilly (from "searching") and it is too big with the case on for the double din and too small without the case.

Any of you guys that have installed a LCD into your dash have any idea or PICTURES AVAILABLE???

Here is the picture of where i want to mount the LCD...I think i want it permenantly there and not be easily removable, not worried about being broken into yet

thanks for looking!!!

I used a lilliput 7inch on my double din. I just cut off the bottom part where the buttons were and it fit like a charm. So glassing and bondo makes it look nearly stock. Heres a pic of how mine turned out. And I havent had a problem with my lilli yet. Cept for when I installed it wouldnt power up but that was due to some dirty connections with all the dust I had.

Can't speak for the others (although without casing I think they will all fit) but the Lilliput does fit without case.

www.carTFT.com do a black one.

I've had two my first was of ebay guy from hong kong, dodgy from start and has all but died, but it did go through a lot of taking apart and putting back together again while I was designing/building dash mount

my second is from above and so far (touch wood has been fine).

They have made some changes and I think the quality has improved.

Speaking of carTFT.com, here's a comparison chart that also lists the dimensions...

man thanks that page is very helpful!

been reading a few more threads about lilly vs xenarc...I really feel like buying the lilly would be regreful down the line. I am just going to hold my breath and buy the xenarc probably, but its gonna be hard to spend that much money on a 7" monitor.

This carPC project keeps getting more and more expensive!

That's why my ideal screen would be DEATACHABLE (very important where I live).

So just a detachable screen with inputs. All other electronics reside in the (hidden) car-puter and amplifier. I guess a button interface around the screen would be cool, and enough space behind for a slot-load, slim optical drive.

When (and if) all that's available I'll make the switch from a head unit/hard drive setup.
