Question How to mount 12.1" LCD?

Hi,

This is my first post here at MP3Car, hello!

I have a few pretty decent laptops lying around collecting dust, so I have decided to put one to good use and make a carputer. I'm putting it my '85 Audi Coupe Quattro, mainly cos it's already in bits and I don't feel like risking my Impreza.

I want to keep it as cheap as possible, so I'm sticking with the existing 12.1" LCD, but I need some advice on how I should mount it. So far the only thing I could think was to use the stand off my 7" Lilliput display, but I don't know how well that would work. So could anyone suggest a good method of doing this myself, or suggest a cheap stand I could buy?

I don't have a digital cam at the moment, so I pulled the best pic I could find off the net. So before anyone asks, no those vile carpet/mat things aren't mine! Although they are quite funny! Also, just so there's no confusion, my car's RHD, not LHD.

Thanks in advance!

I have seen people use goose-neck stands for thier screens. You mount one end to the floor and and the other to the screen. This way you can always change he position of the screen if you wanted to. Or you could always try to fit it in your dash, which may not be possible, 12" is a pretty big screen.

And yeah, the mats are funny.
