F&*^&*(^ LILLIPUT!
This is just great! I'm driving and out of no where the stupid lilliput just blanks out and the red light goes out. I smell a wonderful electrical burn. I get back to my house and see that the 5A inline fuse I had on the power was blown. I had this fuse on it for months with no problem. I put in another 5A fuse, the red light comes on for a second then dies. Another one same. Then I try a 10A and the light comes on again then it dies but the fuse was ok. So I guess the screen is dead??!?!? What the heck is wrong with these screens? Luckily the touch pad still works since its USB powered and I remember where the buttons in Mediaengine are. But this just SUCKS!

How are you powering your Lilliput? If you're using the egg, it probably died ... that's a well known problem that's been reported here over and over. As a word of caution for the future, you should NEVER replace a blown fuse with a larger fuse. Once the first fuse and the replacement 5A fuse blew, you had all the troubleshooting informaiton you needed. Throwing the 10A in there almost guarantees that you will damage something -- if not start a fire.

yea im gettina pretty annoyed wiht lilliputs,,
i bought one about 3 mos ago, it then died about 3 weeks later not knowing WTF happened,, i grounded after the egg.... might of had something to do with it
i just get my BRAND new one today (under warranty, after 6 weeks sending it back getting it back) and guess what... the touchscreen doesnt work.. or maybe the wires got frayed somehing,, hell iunno. I know that its much harder to connect the 9 wire plug in on this one. Im gonna DL the newest drivers i can find tommorrow and strip out my car and see what i can do, I didnt take it out yet simply becuase i had already put the vga-USBcable-to - 9 pin connecter semi permanently in my car,, and will have a lot of work to be takin out.
Maybe someone else has had this problem??

Use the 12V output from your computer supply or any other 12V regulated source you have in your system that can supply ~800mA. For a thorough list of alternatives, use the SEARCH button. This issue has been discussed many many many times.

the screen was probably fine. my friends egg shorted out and burned up just like you described. you just killed your lilliput when you could have bought a regulator for $5 or $10.
DONT PUT HIGHER RATING FUSES IN LIKE WAS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED!
why the hell would the screen draw anymore than 1 amp? geez.
