cannot get lilli touch to work anymore

I know, i know....all too common of a problem. Maybe i'm doing something wrong. Here's my situation. A month ago i had a bad battery that was dying on me. I eventually turned the key and got the dead battery click....upon this dead battery i also noticed that my carputer wasn't turning on either. I replaced the battery and expected the carputer to work flawlessly. I was wrong. I had a problem with my system32 folder or a file within it. I had to reinstall XP and in doing so i got the drivers for the lilliput because i had lost the original CD. well i've been trying quite unsuccessfully to get the drivers to work and to get my touchscreen working but to no avail. It installs everything fine as far as the setup goes but when i click on the driver utility i notice several problems. On the first tab there is NOTHING in the interface category, when i try to ADD something to it it just says NO MORE controller. On that very same tab it also will not let me click on the 4 point calibration or the 25 point calibration. I got the 2nd tab and everything is available there but it doesn't help do anything. 3rd tab i get to there is a blank list for "monitors". All i can do is apply (?) and since there is nothing in the blank list i can't do much. I don't really know where i could be going wrong. If anybody has any input please let me know.

Sorry for the novel. Just trying to get my carputer to work properly. It's been 1 month!! since i've last been able to use it. Thanks for any help!

My touchscreen did not work from the start, I'm dead happy with the picture quality though and to be honest where I've mounted the screen does'nt really suit touch control...

I'm having the same exact problem. One thing i can think of, if it's thorugh your car, is that the USB cable has a short in it, here's my recomendation, and probably what i'm going to resort to. Buy a new cable for you lilliput, the 9 pin to VGA and USB. Then, use the pinout to replace the 9 pin connector, cuz it's a finicky POS. I plan on using a pin out on these boards, and using a serial connector instead.

well mine definently WAS a touchscreen. I am hoping that some kind user will long onto thier carputer for me and check the touchscreen utility and tell me what is written in the blank boxes for both the 1st and 3rd tab. I think there should be something there. That would help me to at least BEGIN to eliminate some of the possibilities!

Forget checking that information, check these things:

Does your computer recognize the touchscreen. i.e. in the system/hardware/usb do you see the touchscreen show up when yo unplug or plug it in. Usually winxp gives some kind of ballon notification in the taskbar.

Make sure your Cable doesn't have a bent pin. <-- CHECK THIS. This is what i think your problem is. If not your USB controller could be bad, thats why i asked if Windows recognizes it.

yes check this for sure,,, as my current replacement DOES not recognize the LIlli when i plug it in. And after moving around the cable for a little bit the hardware wizard popped up but failed as i was moving the cable around. I was going to cut the wire and resolder it but they are sending me another..for free.

@Pacman
Your problem is probably a bent pin. Have you looked at the pins from the DIN cable that comes out of the lilliput. Are they all straight?

I had this problem. after replacing the touchpannel, and usb controller i found out it was a freekin bent pin
