lilliput 7" TS.
worked when I got it, but I did/do have problems (short) with the video cable. There is a short where the it connects to the short extension cable coming out of the monitor.
haven't used in a while, getting ready to custom mount in-dash. Hope it still works (about time to dust it off and give it a shot).
Judging by the number of issues cited in this thread, I'll remove it from the case ONLY if I have to.

btw... in my first version setup and earliest stages of my testing, I accidently reversed polarity on my EarthMate GPS power which split/shared power with my lilliput and umm... well we know how this story ends.
Anyway after my third GPS, etc... I also found out that I apparently ruined my power regulator (the egg shaped gadget) that comes with my lilliput. Does anyone know where I can get a new regulator. Or do I even need to use this regulator if I plan to use to power the lilliput with my OPUS150?
Thanks in advance.

Lilliput - Working without issue. Even though I've taken it apart and dropped it from the dash a few times.

(3) Three Lilliputs
ALL 3 have bad touchscreens ( non-responsive right side )
bought from 2 different places. Gonna send one back to Logic Supply to maybe get fixed, but from the e-mail, it seems like this is a known / normal problem & my expectations aren't that high... maybe upgrade to Xenarc..
BTW, they failed after a couple days before they were even installed in anything, just hooked up to a carpc on a table..
Those with experience, what should my expectations be on the repair / replacement ???
the other 2 I have came from Hong Kong ( EBay ) and they are also under a warranty, but I don't want to ship them only to be told that they can't do anything and I'm SOL..

Wow, I now seem to be SUPER LUCKY in that I have a Lilliput and nothing untoward has happened yet, even though I went on a huge road trip in August, and constantly use it. I just have the ugly legs wedged into the cup holder assembly so the Lilliput does not wobble and flip, and I hide it in the glove box to not gain unwanted attention (the DIN connector seems a little bit flakey, but if I firmly plug it together, it is good) The TS has never failed me yet. I wonder if I have a streak of luck going for me. I can't fit it in the console box because the inverter is there with HUGE WALL WARTS and POWER BRICKS that will all go away whenever I can get the Carnetix wired in (never???).
Well I have a friend that gave me a FRIED LILLIPUT but not VGA or TS, it just shows white!!! So.. I have a friend with a fried lilliput 7.2" In this Lilliput, the controller board is actually made by Sharp!

Is the Y-axis people or units?
Regardless, this isn't incontrovertible proof one LCD is better than the other; just that there's a correlation. An alternative explanation is that Lilliputs are cheaper and thus people just getting into electronics or the carputer scene find them attractive, and if that's a strong group within Lilliput users, it could be expected that we'd see more user-caused product fails (or even product fails attributed to factory problems). Look at coyote's Auto-power On thread for quite a few examples of these types of users.
Also, and this is just by quick observation, but it seems there are quite a few people that aren't bothering to say whether or not their LCD was broken due to user-error or factory defects. For instance, the two Xenarc user error cases almost went without being properly categorized.
Not that I'm for or against one or the other (myself, I'm trying to figure out which LCD to buy), but I'd hate for these results to be fuel in a rather inane fire, blinding people from any real arguments for or against their favorite little LCD.

Going through the posts, it seems the only consistant problem with Lilliputs reported here is the touchscreen. Of course, this seems to happen quite a bit (about 15% of all Lilli's reported).... Outside of this specific problem, it seems most broken Lilliputs were user caused, or unspecified. For instance, PaCMaYNE has had three Lilliputs, one went down because of improper grounding and subsequent frying, and the other two have faulty touchscreens.
It seems to me that Lilliput is an LCD screen to avoid until they fix this touchscreen issue. And they might have already. Perhaps the failed touchscreens all come from early production runs. And perhaps the actual failure rate of the touchscreens is much lower than evidenced here, as owners with an ax to grind might be more likely to post (though it's still obviously a problem). It also seems the touchscreen issue is unrelated to ripping apart the Lilliput. More like a factory defect with a worryingly high frequency. . .
P.S. - I think some of the values of the graph are slightly off, but I also researched some of the users who simply said "broken!" and found that they had in fact broke it themselves.

I have everyone listed in an excel file on my home pc...I'll post it later today so everyone has a chance to see if their screen status is recorded properly.
