A Little Newb-Confusion

I read alot about people talking about powering the lilliput into the 12v power thing in the carputer.

but how is this done? isnt the power cables in the power thing like... the flat rectangular thing (the power cable that powers up your harddrives), that semi-clear/white plastic thin rectangle shape with colorful wires at the end (can u tell im a newb?)

and the lilliput uses the 5.5mm round thing right? so in ..... umm...... my childish language...... how do you connect the lilliput to the computer power thing?

ultimate newb-- my apologies

The Yellow Wire in that semi white coloured plastic connector from your PC connects to the White coloured wire going to your lilliput. Then the Black wire (doesn't matter which one they are both 0v) should go to the black wire going to your Lilliput.

[edit]
you will need to cut off that cigarette plug from the lilliput and splice into the wire going to the molex connector (semi white plastic thingy) in your PC and do some soldering.
The 5.5 Plug is what goes into your lilliput, on the other end should be the cigarette lighter plug.
[/edit]

You don't necessarily HAVE to do it this way. I lose the power to my cig. adapter when my car turns off. So all I have to do is plug the cig. adapter that came with the lilliput into my car. Just an FYI if you didn't know this already.

Yes, your previous post is correct.
I have never had any problems with the "egg thing".

I thought it was the normal car voltage fluctuations that killed it (up to 14.5 volts) and the egg was just a bad voltage regulator, giving a false feeling of security, but when you use a pre-regulated supply (the 12v psu that you use for the motherboard) then the egg was not needed and actually made the screen dimmer?

Thats how it seems to me from reading up for the past few weeks, but im a noob around here so im probably wrong
