Angry Touchscreen driver install problem, HELP! (Lilliput 7")

I am trying to install the drivers for my Lilliput 7" touchscreen on my laptop and there's a big problem! I already installed the touchscreen fine on my car PC but it won't work on the laptop, here's the problem...

The setup program starts and it installs the drivers. Then it goes to serach through the serial ports (I don't know why because I told it I am using the USB version, meaning I didn't check the checkbox for PS/2) but then it crashes, so the drivers don't get installed.

Please help because I can't do anything now? Is there a place I can get newer drivers?

I am using XP, SP2, and a P4 2.66ghz laptop. Nothing else is weird so I don't know why it crashes at the "searching through com ports step?!?! Is there a way to skip that all together?

Thanks.

try to have a look in some *.ini files associated with your driver. I know this have no great relation with XP but i solved this issue under linux like that
Another solution is to go in control panel and peripherals to see if windows recognized this as one unknow peripheral.
From there you should get at least the brand of the touch screen device and seek on google for a driver update.

Unhook any other USB device you may have and try again.

Ok fixed it! Just newer drivers than those provided on the install cd that came with the screen.

The drivers that worked were v3.2.1.2925. Here is a link to the drivers for the Lilliput 7" Touchscreen... http://www.egalax.com.tw/Download.htm

There is a newer driver (version 4 something) but that didn't work for me so just use the .2925 drivers if you ever have this problem.
