Cheap indash monitor
I just got Windows XP Media Center 2005, I was wondering what the cheapest motorized indash standalone monitor is, I am going for the indash appeal. I really dont feel like molding any screens into it, so I definitely need an indash. Brand doesnt matter as long as its tft. I was thinking a lilliput VGA in a motorized housing. But if any of you have a better idea lemme know.

if you have a look at some of the other posts u will notice that there are a couple of potentials people are looking at
supposedly lilliput have released their indash under the name of 'newvision' but i dont think its being distributed properly yet

I was thinking of going composite with my input. I found a few TFT monitors on ebay, I may be purchasing one of the motorized generic 7" tft's. Is there any problems with the composite input? Other than the resolution.

i had a 7" tft lcd with my pc hooked up composite out on a nvidia card - it looked like ****. no really i guess it would work for stuff like media car where the letters are all big but surfing the net or using any programs made for normal monitors will be crap.

If ur gonna be doing any GPS, composite will not work. I used to have a composite screen and it looked like **** all the time except when watching movies and listening to mp3s. If ur planning on doing anything other than watching movies and listening to mp3s, get in-dash vga from digitalww.com! If u just want to watch movies and listen to mp3s, get one of the brand-name motorized units with a dvd player (Alpine, Pioneer, Panasonic), and.don't build a carputer. Sorry for sounding like an *******, but that is how the cookie crumbles. Peace, Rafster

Bodgy you don't have to take it personally. It is a fact that there is a huge clarity difference between VGA and composite. Especially on a touchscreen.
