Calling all Lilliput Experts! IR problem

My ir sensor stoped working. Yet all of the buttons and leds still work.

my lilliput is mounted in a way that i cannot get the the controller board without taking apart my dash. so i was just wondering if you if someone could answer my question before i start taking everything apart...

is it posible for the button ribon cable to be loose in such a way that the buttons and leds still work but the ir sensor does not?

well i the buttons aren't accessable.. since the button controller board is resting inside an air vent.. the only way i can turn it on is with the remote..

do you still want the remote? why not try coyotes auto turn on?

How is it powered?

yeah the batterys were good.. i poped of my air vent and i turned the screen on with the button. so i found that the screen was still good.. i would do the auto power on mod but i don't want to unglue my screen to do it...

its glued in.. and the button controller board is just hanging down.. i can still using the remote cause the ir signal makes it through the air vent

Have you tried to use the remote before you pushed the button to see if it does work.

Yeah i tried the remote with 2 different batteries... still no turn on.. also triend same two batteries in my sony Hu remote and they work fine...

I guess im gunna reach into the dash and try to see if i can reach the controller board and reposition the ribon cable.. if only i could remember which way the damn thing is supposed to align...

ok i managed to get my fingers way up there and i reseated the cable on both the controller boards and the button pcb...

still nothing..

From what i can see there are three posibilities:
1. the IR Module itself is damaged..(the led thingy)
2. the controller board no longer has ir capability(the ir part of the doesn't work anymore
3. the remote is damaged(i hope its this one)

i am going to a friends house later to try out his remote on my screen.. and try my remote on his screen...

any other suggestions?

if its not the remote, then im going to try to do the auto-on mod to the button pcb.. if its posible...
