Kenwood In-dash Monitors to control pc?

Hi.

I'm currently considering putting one of the Kenwood DVD receivers with a retractable screen in my car. The two I am looking at are the KVT-815DVD and the KVT-911DVD (which is now out of production but avaliable refurb still).

These units feature touchscreen controls. So, I was wondering if these units can be used to control a PC in the same manner as a vga touch screen display?

Also, as far as alternatives. Does anybody know of any good in-dash retractable touch-screen vga monitors?

Thanks
Steve

They could be used if they have a video input, but the image is crappy. If they're not VGA, which they're not, they're not worth it. As for any retractable screens, I have a good news and a bad news:
The bad news is the're aren't any
The good news, comes from www.digitalww.com. They have fold out, non motorized housings for the Xenarc and Lilliput (most VGA TS used around here).

No.
You'd know this before I told you if you'd search the forum before asking the question. For this, we can publicly mock you, n00b.

Yes, if it has an input (more likely av). the principle of touchscreen is just like using a mouse, except that you are touching the screen straightaway. i most likely prefer vga though.

You can plug the AV into it and it will display the video and play the audio, sure. But the touchscheen isn't going to work unless you crack open the HU, figure out how to get teh touchscreen signals to either a PS/2 port or a USB port *AND* have correct drivers for it installed.
Considering the cost of these in-dash DVD/screen units, I wouldn't want to risk it, would you?

Granted, you could have your PC display on it with a touchscreen and touch it all day long, if that's your bag.
