Dreamcast with Lilliput

Hey guys im brand new to this carputer/cartv/carvideogames basically anything other than car audio in a car (wow what bull****)

I am putting a dreamcast in my camry with a 7" lilliput LCD (not touchscreen)

a) I have ordered a 12v to 240v inverter to run the DC then i read some people doing different **** on this site. Tihs will work right? Its just large, cumbersome and not specific to the task?

b) where to mount the LCD? I was going to do front of centre console (near ashtray etc.) because (guessing) passenger can see at all times, and i can see it in a even gear (2nd 4th R), and its out of the way (thieves...compared to dash at least) using the universal mount.

Any other cool places i could mount it that dont spring to mind instantly (i know you really need to se the car but hey)

Thanks Guys

As long as your dreamcast uses 240 volts it should work fine.

Is the lilliput you are getting vga? If so, they make a nice vga adapter for the dreamcast which would look very nice.

Also, are you aware of the homebrew dreamcast stuff? There are video players, mp3 players, even older console system emulators (nes, snes, genesis, etc.). A site I used to visit that may get you started is www.dcemulation.com.

not all games support the VGA adaptor so it will still need to be connected by the RCA's as well

Yeah i know about the home brew stuff, i use DreamSNES alot for SNES emulation (obviously).

I thought a lilliput was a cheap monitor (227 AUS where the next cheapest i can find is a $329 pile of **** from Strathfield). And i plan on a carputer later (though hampered by no touchscreen), this is just a startup project.

Also, i have a large sound system but it runs off a lower end pioneer head unit with no auxiallary inputs. I was planning on running the RCAs from the head unit and DC into a selector box then amplifiers. What is my best choice to adjust the level of the output signal (i assume it is very quiet 1.3v standard auxiallary or whatever).

Thanks Guys
