Ahhhhhhh Just Got It Today!!! :-(

newwww to the forum whats up guys well i just got my 7 inch touch screen lilliput and i put the front into my dash all fiberglassd and stuff and wen i was connecting all my wires 2gether @ first it was cool pic was kinda blurry i shook the cable for the lcd it was fine then alla sudden like it went off and then came back on with the red power light and then wen i pressed on it went to green n turned off again and now it wont turn on i just got it today!!! :-( help guys if n e of u got a extra cable or whatever i need pLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE let me know thank you -bill

nope cant send it back i already fiberglassed the front case into my dash and i doubt they want my dash too lol its 6 am here in la and ive been up since 9 working on it and im reallllllly pist bout it now

Didn't you read the part in the manual where you had to pray really hard first and scrafice a cat to the sun God, before opening the box?????

More info, hooked up inside using the AC block, in car with cig adapter? Laptop or Desktop/mini itx board?

You can order a new face/enclosure for 10$ or so. you could swap out the guts and try and send it back.

its in my room right now with the wall adapter and i had my pc hooked up to it for a bit just to test it out it was working fine wen i got it but yeh i was thinking bout swapping the guts too i will most deff try it if nuttin else works and i seriously think its the ribbon that goes to the controls or its shorted out (pleaseeee dont be shorted) let me know if u know some1 whos got a housing they wanna sell or a broken screen or some crap -bill

fasternfaster i tried another screen i had with the wall adaptr and it worked fine i have not tried the egg yet i got it and started working on it in my room cuz its raining outside im out for now 6 am need sleep!

uh, armin at digitalww.com should have one.

is your machine in standby mode? Unplug it for a few minutes and plug it in again, also go out to the car and try it. plug it in, if its red, hit the pc/av button, it sould come on and cycle between av and vga modes. Try it with a laptop also, check vga to your mother board, and on another machine if you have two.

where did you get it from?

Did you test it BEFORE you put it in the car?

btw - can you try and use some punctuation? it's a little hard to follow what all you are saying, I know you are stressed out right now and just want to fix it, but if we can't really understand you it makes it harder to help you....

seems like dingofarmer has the trouble shooting all squared away though!

thanks guys. well ioono its not working still i tried everything i could and i cant find the cable for the controler board thingie online @ digitalww.com. if any of you guys know where to get it pleASE!!!!!!! tell me mi going to try to check out frys electronics if they have the cable cuz they carry lots of raw computer electronic crap thanks -bill

right on, this seems to be the issue when taken apart. check all the connections. The egg didn't work? Can you try and hook it up using the AV RCA's to your dvd player in home or something to see if its the vga portion thats the problem, or the entire unit. I know all this sounds basic, but with this freaking unit, its a must cause they suck. I'm still crossing my fingers hoping I don't have any weird problems with mine.

hey dingo i dont know whats up heres how im testing it i got the back panal then i have the ribbon for the controls coming out of the back panal and into the control board and then the power plugd in i just cant get the red light to come on. right now im @ the point of like giving up the buttons and only using the remote but it sucks cuz the ir is on the controler board too!! :-( no clue what to do now realllly stuck half my car is taken apart cuz of the carputer and my dash is in my room -bill

***** bro, i hear you. Uh not too much of a lili expert, but I'v been troubleshooting hardware for years. There are several bulitens on that ribbon cable you described. some guys just cleaned it up, while others stated that by taking the unit apart it snaped something on the cable????This is a common problem, do a dsearch for lili's here, I can't remember specificly, but those cables are very sensitive and alot of people inevertantly break them. I'd help more but i have a mid shift. I'll check back later. Go out side, smoke a cigarette, or pop in a good movie, take a break, cause it will get to you and you'll end up making some sort of mistake. maybee even put it away for tonight, do some reaserch tommorow and brainstorm and then jump at it. yes, even if you have to drive around with a big hole in your dash. I'v been there too.
Good luck, also, try and pm armin and get his advice.

thanks bro i jsut called up one of my friends hes got the same screen lilliput 7 inch touch and hes gonna come down with his fiend and try it out maybe swap the cables and c what happens pray its the cable!! cuz tahs like <10 bucks if not imma try to trick with the company i got it from on ebay and send it back with a new housing they said they will cover fautls to the product for 1 year so lets c what happens :-D MY 80 BUCK CRAPPY SCREEN THAT I GOT WORKS BETTER THEN THIS ONE RIGHT NOW AND ITS BARE TO THE BONE! HAHA
