Screw the headunit, use the 1/2 din on the upper and make a slot load dvdrom, and use the lower din for a motorized touch screen. or the other way around.

I saw on acurazine.com a guy that had a flip-out screen in the 1/2 din CD holder slot in a second gen TL. I pm'ed him to find out where he got it. I seem to remember seeing one somewhere, but it was over $600.
Found one:

Issues with that unit for car PC use:
No VGA input
Touchscreen won't control a PC without major modification..
Only 300nit brightness (not horrible, but not good, either)
You can get a single-DIN unit with VGA input for a lot cheaper.

I didn't see anything in the original question regarding touchscreen, only a flip out screen that was 1/2 din.
It was 3am...cut me some slack.

This guy hacked up a cheapo motorized unit and put it in the slot above the HU (the 1/2 din note holder slot in our TL's).
http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showt...ghlight=screen
(There are pics on the second page that still come up)
But, as stated earlier, it's not VGA and wouldn't work so well with a carputer.

To answer the original question...
There is indeed a 1/2 din in-dash LCD monitor.
(However, I believe the native resolution is not very high, IIRCC.)

Again, it has no VGA input, so it's not the ideal solution for a vehicle PC.
It would work, sure.
