I have a mobo with built in nforce2 chipset so I am using nvidia's latest drivers and I set the custom resolution up for 800X480 and at 60hz it shrinks the top and bottom down so there are black bars on top and bottom. Also the monitor reports at 640X480 so I played with the refresh rate and had 61hz working perfect! the screen was nice and clear, it reported the correct resolution of 800X480 and all was good. So I shut down the computer for the day and came back to it at the next day and it boots up and now it is back to 640X480 and the screen is rolled over to the left side and nothing is right. So I try to duplicate my previous settings and it simply doesn't save. I can get the custom nvidia settings at 800X480 at 61hz but it still reports as 640X480 and the fonts are blurry. This is nothing new and I solved this the other day but now I can't get it to work!
And when I reboot after getting everything lined up it goes back to messed up.
Is this a driver issue? I would rather not have to run powerstrip to fix all this.
