xenarc TS vs TSV

i see the store has the TS model, not the TSV (unless i'm blind)...

i was initially interested in the TSV because the only difference was the inputs (composite x2 and audio x2)...

if i wanted to take this out of the dash (which i wont), i could take it with me or whatever use it at home

i'm getting a cheese box i think because of the potential for backup camera/xbox relays etc etc

so i think i dont need a tsv, do you agree? am i missing something?

This is the TS model. http://www.mp3car.com/store/product_...products_id=49

The differences are the TSV has a IR remote control and composite video inputs and the TS doesn’t have those two features.

Also I believe I read in a post that said the TSV has an option called something like auto-AV2 or something of that nature. You can use that rca plug to connect a cheap night vision camera and have it power up from reverse lights. This way, when you put the car into reverse, the camera turns on - which should make the monitor automatically swap to input av2 so you can see out the camera eye. When you go back into drive, the camera turns off and monitor returns to the last input it was on.

Somebody please correct me if i'm wrong. But I plan on buying the TSV strictly for that function.

gizak:
that's the function i'm looking for as well - mainly for xbox/rev camera

from what i understand the Cheese box is a rca in that goes to vga out, w/selector switch

guys setup a relay w/that switch w/the reverse lights like you said... the input switches when the relay is on, so he gets the same erffect

i'm looking for something like that, i'm guessin the cheese is the way to go, saves me like 50 bucks net, plus i can have more features

i'm thinking some sort of switcher/relay setup w/an xbox or multiple video setups - like switch to power on xbox and override monitor and audio so i can have xbox in car speakers, switch to reverse and camera overrides but whatever audio stays put, maybe even blinker control so left will allow side cameras for blind spots in my SUV

if anyone has thoughts on that idea on how to do i'd love the help!

TS = $379
TSV = $399

20 bucks more for auto input selection capability + another rca connection for xbox/ps2/etc. Not sure where you are getting the savings of 50 bucks or the necessity of the cheesebox. As for audio for other peripherals, I'm not sure what all you are throwing in there, but you can just plug any other xbox/ps2 audio into the audio in on the computer no? That's what I would do.
