Lilliput 8" Dimensions
Hey guys, I hate posting a new thread, cuz I know anything I have to say has been covered at some time. But I've searched and searched and searched.....can't find it. I'm looking for dimensions <a good drawing> of a lilliput 8" touchscreen, inside and out. Maybe if someone had theirs taken apart, if they could snap a pic of the internals and pop a few dimesions on it <really just the dimensions of the actual LCD board inside, one it's out of the case>. I will be buying a new lilli 8" in about 2 weeks, and designing a motorized screen setup for it. Right now though, I've had some free time at work, and I'd like to start drawing up the casing, tracks, and motor unit in AutoCad to get it ready for CNC. Would be great if I could get some good dimensions of the internal boards and pieces so I could start designing the unit to hold it all.
Thanks Guys,
Rob
<by the way, if ya keep watching out in a few weeks, I'll be posting the progress on the motor unit. I'm designing the screen to mount flush in the dash, and when i pop a button, the screen will fold back into the dash and the dvd drive and head unit cd slot will swing up into it's place for disc loading <the HU faceplate is remotely mounted up in the headliner above the rearview mirror, but the actual HU and CD slot will be behind the screen>. Then one more push and the drives will recede, allowing the screen to pop back up flush into the dash. As soon as i get the dimensions for everything, I'll stick the cad drawing up for ya.

Thanks alot Rundell. That's a great help. But if anyone has some pix of the 8" opened up, I would still like to see the exact shape of everything <i know, mostly rectangles>, and the locations of all the ribbon cable connectors and stuff. Thanks Guys!!!

Do you have any other pictures of the pieces - it would be great to be able to see the relative sizes better than just that one pic shows. For instance - is that metal backed piece the LCD housing? Did you remove the front panel? How big is the front panel in relation to the actual guts. Etc...

Picture of the lilliput LCD itself front and back. In one of the pictures its ontop of the back case to see size wise, I'm unable to get a pic with the lcd in the front bezel.
Also the question about the metal part is the back part of the lcd panel I have not taken it off since I don't need to. It seems to be some other electrical parts inside of it. The whole thing is 3/4" with the touchscreen

Why is that?
Great pictures. They'll really help me decide if I want to pursue a really custom mount for my 8" (guts inside a shroud) or just a semi custom mount (full case inside a shroud). And without doing any dismantling until/if I lean towards the former. Thanks.

Well I can take a pic but the bezel is hacked up and molded into a dash piece, so that pic would do you no good
