Poor Quality on Xenarc 700TR
Hi!
I bought a Xenarc 700TR. If I use the cable given in bundle (2mt, non-shielded) I get a perfect image. But, if I use a very good 3mt long shieled vga cable, I get a bad quality image (blurred). I tried other cables and I always get the same result.
I don't know what to do! Please help me!!!
Tnx! Garo

uh....
use the cable you got?
as for why, maybe it's because of how long the cable is.

The mp3car store sells a longer version of the Xenarc cable. You might give that one a try...

Unfortunately that cable is different from mine! I have 700TR that use a slightly different cable... However, a normal vga cable seems to fit well, but I got blurry image
I need a longer cable because I don't have room near the dash to install my pc, so I have to put it in the luggage van.

I have the same problem this time with a LinITX screen. This is what I get:
-------------------
5m lead laptop to LinITX Screen - Bad dobule ghost to right, like the image is 3 layers thick, with each layer fainter.
5m lead laptop to 17" LCD - sharp
5m Lead tower to 17" LCD - sharp
5m Lead tower to LinITX screen - Bad dobule ghost to right, like the image is 3 layers thick, with each layer fainter.
2m ITX lead to LinITX screen - sharp, no ghosting
2m ITX lead to 17" LCD - sharp, tiny ghosting to the left.
1.5m Iiyama cable to 17" monitor - sharp
1.5m Iiyama cable to LinITX screen - sharp
-------------------
Which makes me think it's some kind os compatability thing or something? The big 5m cable is a really good quality one with big chokes at either end. I was wondering if the chokes were messing it up or what? It's a total pain in the *** though. Maybe I could cut the chokes off the cable? Or cut the cable and resolder? (the ends are metal, I can open them up, they look OK to resolder, not easy - but possible.)
Must be loads of people runniong these screens with extentions, any advice? Anyone got long cables that work?

I'm running my Xenarc 8" TS with a 6 foot extension cable on it. I bought the cheapest one they had and it looks sharp. I'll count myself lucky.

Hmm this is interesting. check http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...host+extension that thread as well.
Looks like we have to get the cheapest cable to make these screens work... the expensive fat ones (mine is triple coax + 7 signal + 2 chokes) mess up the signal for these wee screens!??
Weird, I don't suppose anyone has an explanation?
This should be in big letters in the FAQ if it is true.

My cable is an high quality cable with two chokes too... The only strange thing I noticed is that the original unshielded Xenarc cable has exactly 15 pins, while the one I use (and almost all the cable that I found in the shops) has 14 pins. Maybe that is the reason? Can someone with "working cables" or extensions look at the number of the pins?

This cable worked with my Xenarc 700TSV:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...105-807&depa=0
I have a very small amount of moving static, but it's only visible if you stare at the display from a distance of 6". The static may be from nearby power cables, though.

3m long cable or 9ft ??? Of course your signal will be blurry... look at a 6 ft. VGA cable, ever notice how thick it is ? The reason for that is because it is heavily sheilded the longer the VGA cable you get the worse the quality will be because the signals begin to cross over each other....

IntellaWorks - go read again - my 5m cable works fine tower -> desk VGA, but ghosts going tower -> touchscreen! The odd man out is not the cable!
You can buy 25m vga cables... surely they can work somehow without being unreadable??
Surely a lot of people run extensions from their boot to the console?
To me, it points to the screens are set up to work with cheap thin unchoked cable, and that the good stuff messes them up??!??!
