Need 8" 16:9 touchscreen

Hi,
This is my first post, but I have been reading this forum for a while now and must say that some of you guys are amazing. Keep up the good work so suckers like me can benefit from your creativity ))) Don't get me wrong - you are appreciated!

I am collecting info, hardware and software for my first project - carpc in an Audi A6.

I have been searching for a 8" 16:9 touchscreen lcd... I eather find 8" 4:3, or 16:9 without touch....

Does anyone know of such a monitor in the $300-400 price range?

PS: I am also planning to make my car start with my fingerprint....anybodu done that, yet?

Keep looking. I don't know if one exists.
Try EarthLCD. THey're a good resource for all things LCD, but they can be pricey.

It's been discussed in this thread: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...gerprint+start
The general consensus is that it would be difficult & costly to implement. One issue is to have the computer read the thumbrint reader, the computer has to be powered on. Leaving the computer on while the car is not is going to drain your battery.
There's also the matter of steering lock and other functions of the ignition.

Not saying it couldn't be done. Good luck and show us pics if you pull it off!

I'll agree with that, if you get that to work, be SURE and post pics of it and details!
