the finish is a black laquer.... I like it for this because it gives a perfect look to what I had in mind..... it's glossy, but doesn't look fake..... I can polish it to like a mirror after all the bodywork is done, laquer has a nice look to it & is easy to repair & add on to.... the upper bezel will be done to match, along with the door inserts...

I don't know if polishing that too much would be a good idea. With as much light as you'll be getting off the screens, it could cause some annoyances especially with the bends right along the screen.

I use Meedio, so I can't be any help. I do remember reading that it is simply a file you need to replace. It may be a shockwave file as I know many have them animated. Right now my front-end is somewhat pointless because I need to use Foobar2000 for now to get my rear speakers and subs working with stereo music. Once I get a new soundcard I'll finish up my Meedio skin.

Very cool.
I didn't realize when you showed me the screen that it was powered by Luxeon 1 watt LED's. Someone asked me about my interior domelight and I told them it was a Luxeon 1 watt. They said that's what you used for the LCD.
I also got a 1 Watt Luxeon star ARC4+ flashlight, and two lights on my Mountain bike that are also Luxeons. They are really nice leds.

Go to Installpath of RoadRunner\skins\ Then select to the folder of your skin.
Delete file logo.swf
No honda logo anymore!
You might anyhow want to replace it with Pontiac logo.

phase 2 is about to begin.... my touchscreen(capacitive) should be here any day now..... when I take this apart for phase 2 I will be totally disasembling the lcd & replacing all the polarizers/difusers from a non functioning 17" lcd that I have, & be trimming them to work in the proper aspect for this screen to enhance the viewing angles side to side, as this screen right now side to side was originaly up & down
it works o.k. as-is, looks great from the drivers point of view, but looks "funny" & almost inverted from the passengers viewpoint unless they lean in a little..... I want to get it perfect.... wish me luck.... theres a pretty high probability of toasting this screen in this step final step... but I made it this far without damaging it, I'll have my fingers crossed
after the touchscreen is done, I can FINALLY finish off the bezel... since it will need work for the touchscreen anyway I never finished it...... the touchscreen overlay will attach to the bezel most probably, while the screen is mounted to the dash bracket.... hard to plan it without the touchscreen in my hands really...... any day now

did you ever figure out your photoresistor solution? I havn't started that phase yet, but would be happy to start looking now, but figured if you had found the proper resistance that would make the trail and error process quicker.
Also, did you finish the overlay? I am curious if my resistive will make my screen still not readible.
