damn ribbon cables
Well I think i messed up my lilliput 7". I opened it up to remove the POS vga cable and replace it with a normal vga cable. while i was busy soldering the wires to the board i wasnt paying attn to the small ribbon cable and bumped the and that conects to the screen with the soldering iron.
It hit for maybe a second but long enough for the heat to warp the cable right at the pins, so now a few of the midlle pins are bent. i flattened it out with my fngers and reinstalled it into the clip but the lilli wont power up at all.
So i'm assuming that since this is the cable that connects the pcb to the screen its not making contact at the right spots. I checked digitalww for teh parts but i only see the 40 pin cables listed so I e-mailed Arman to see if he has them but I havent heard back from him yet.
I do have a question about the cables though, since they are single sided obviously they will only work installed facing one direction, could be that I dont have the cable facing the right direction, does the pin side go to the inside or outside of the clips?

the smaller ribbon cable has to be all the way to one side in the connector. if the screen is facing down, it has to be all the way to the left. if that still doesn't help, follow the guide on digitalww to put the screen in the slide out housing, it has directions to replace that ribbon cable w/ soldered wires.

good luck
