Question Question about 3M sticky pad with LCD mounts

Quick installation question:

Those sticky 3M or other pads that come with the mounts on most LCD's (that half circle, cut out looking thing), do those leave smears on dashboard or plastic when you remove???

I'm going to mount my LCD on dashboard using the stick-on-pad (3M in my case), but will look for another option is there is glue-gunk left over when I want to remove the mounting bracket.

Thx!

Although the residue that is left behind id easily removed with Goo Gone or some other remover, i wouldn't recommend sticking your monitor on your dash for at least a few different reasons.
1. It will block your field of view.
2. It will be very visible to unwanted eyes like thieves or cops.
3. It will be in direct sunlight at least part of the time making it unreadable.
4. Not sure how hot it gets where you are but when that adhesive gets hot it will probably fall right off. when the weight of your monitor gets pulled one way or another taking a corner and your monitor comes loose, slides across the dash and out the window.
