Would a 800 x 480 Bios update need driver modification too?

Just wondering why noones hacked the 116 bios themselves

if someone could make a stable M10000 bios with 800x480 would it simply work in windows?

From what i understand you need a bios and driver update combo.

So just finding a bios guru would not be enough?

I mean Im getting fed up with Via ignoring this issue (and im sure others are too) and even paying a company to make a 3rd party update sounds rational at this point.

Anyone else know please? Would like to get a definate answer before I chase this more.

Best to follow the Quest for 800x480 thread - Xenarc themselves are now sending a screen to VIA it seems for them to develop the driver/bios on!

Ahh, didnt see that yet today, now read and digested thanks- perhaps theres hope yet, I guess the next question is how long is the r&d and rollout going to take, assuming there are no stumbling blocks, or one side or other drops the ball for whatever reason.

I would think a month or so, at least if they do a proper job and test it properly but you never know might be beta drivers in a few weeks!
