new outlook on lilliput
I managed to screw up the vga controller in my lilliput the other week while soldering new cables to the board. So just for the hell of it I figured I would contact Lilliput, errr Newision and see how much it would cost to have the unit repaired by them. I e-maied the service department in China and didnt really expect much of a response if any since I had opened the unit and voided any kind of warranty on it.
Needless to say I was shocked to have this e-mail conversation with them:
> > I have a 7" lilliput vga tft touchscreen, while attempting to replace

> > board. I need to have the control board replaced

We do not have any service office in USA. If you'd like, you could return this unit to us, but you'll charge the shipping cost, please comment.
I look forward to your early reply.

Free!!, hmmm, damn imagine that one. I know alot of people have had bad experiences with lilliputs and I just have to give them credit for trying to take care of my problems.
luckily I work for an airline so we get a huge discount on fed ex shipments, should only cost a few $$ to have it shipped there and then whatever it costs for return shipment. All i know is it will be much less expensive than buying a whole new LCD
