Broken PCB (Xenarc)
Hi all,
I have broken the PCB controller from my Xenarc monitor which I originally bought last year from DigitalWW, as I currently can not get hold of Armen, does anyone know where spare controller boards could be purchased?
The panel i am using is the EDTCB18QEF (Panasonic)- so any VGA controller board that is cable of driving this panel would be great.
Thanks for your help.

How exactly is it broken. I actually repair controllers that are not physically abused for around 20-50$.
Theres a surface mount socket on a daughterboard, i've broken off the socket (its where the cable where the vga cable plugs in) - if you have spare daughterboards, im sure you'd be able to desolder the one there and resolder in another one - thats all thats up with it.
Wheres abouts are you in the US? I'm in the uk, but im off to Milwaukee next month (to see the parents-in-law).
Thanks in advance
Matt

I think LinITX.com can get hold of them if you contact their support dept.

Do we know which colours in the vga cable go to which pin? Also, when I power the board, the backlight on the panel turns on, and the lcd panel just sits there as a brilliant white colour - shouldnt I be getting the splash screen? would the lack of vga connector stop the splash screen from appearing? or do you think I have further problems? (sighs)
Thanks for all your help.

I do not have a pinout on this. Maybe someone who does will post the pin information of the xenarc on the inside.
I don't know what online elec stores you have in the UK but I would visit them and look for an easy to work with 13(or more) pin connector. That way, you can still disconnect it when you want.
If you don't find a pinout soon, keep posting and someone will see it.
here is a pic for people to see what you are talking about.

i have a 7" xenarc with a busted connector also. they wanted $200 to fix last time i asked. bullshavings.
I tried to reverse engineer the pinout (working with the cable and also comparing to my 8" xenarc), but my mutimeter continuity tester kept indicating that every single pin is connected to each other...so by trial and error, the only thing ive been able to figure out is the 2 composite inputs.

is it just a broken connector? I want one to practice on before I desolder a decent one!
