using a rear view camera on lilliput

i noticed there are 2 ways to hook up power (one via the USB-like connection) and another straight into the DC jack...

i was wondering what would happen if i had the LCD hooked up to my PSU, and then hook up the other power source via my reverse lights... would it automatically switch the view to video mode? Or would it fry it?

And if this won't work... anyone know how to hack the VGA/vid switch?
