7000IDT coming soon... a question

hello..

eagerly waiting for my indash display to come in the mail. i am setting up the system now... and im curious... what is the resolution of that monitor really going to be. meaning... what do i set up my front end (centrafuse) to run?? i want to play with a few things.... but dont want to spend too much time working on a skin... if its just going to change.

it looks like the skin options for centrafuse are 800x600 (stretched) and 848 x 480.... im not sure which im need to use.

what will my video setting need to be for this display?? i have a m10000 system. im planning on using the vga input to the screen

The 800x600 stretched will work right away with your M10000 set to run 800x600 resolution. If you can get your M10000 to work in 848x480 then that resolution will potentially look better, but I never did get it working on my M10000. The optimal resolution for your screen is 800x480, which will also be an option with my new skin in CENTRAFUSE, but you will most likely have to add a video card to your system to get this resolution...

I run 800x600 stretched and it looks fine to me... I actually like it better because it gives me a lot more height in all my listviews and my desktop being that it's 600 instead of 480...

thanks for your reply... and the one in the centrafuse thread... i just read that one too.

has anyone tried the powerstrip utility the guys with htpc are running?? they say it allows for a lot of custom resolutuions. perhaps this is a way to get the display on the m10000 to run @ 848x480??

Searcht eh forums. This has been discussed time & time again.
Power strip will only allow resolutions that the video adapter can generate.
