Has anybody found any use in a LCD display from an old Palm III? I would like to mount it, perhaps with a character LCD, in a sun visor, but I don't know ANY details about the Palm LCD, or what software would be able to drive it. Any suggestions or comments?
sheesh, no one searches. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/input-devices/16300-pda-remote.html See that thread for info on palmamp, palm vnc, and palm orb. Palm amp is made for this pda. I use it happily on my m130, though and it's great. See my sig for it in action. Palm orb works well too. Use it with LCD smartie (and download speedfan to use it to see your processor and hd temperatures). Palm VNC is cool too.
Allright, don't get testy at me... I DID search, but I dismissed the thread out-of-hand because that's not exactly what I wanted to do, I wanted to disassemble my Palm III and just use the LCD, they're keeping the PP as a whole and tying it to the carputer w/ WIFI or BT or what-have-you....
msb5150, the sourceforge link you sent me is very interesting, making a PP emulate a MO LCD, very clever, but, again, I wanted to take the PP apart and use the LCD itself, not the machine as a whole.
Never mind, y'all. I just looked online and I remembered that the LCD and the Graffiti area share the same ribbon cable connector. Since that also means that the touchscreen overlay is in the same ribbon cable, that's just way too complicated for me to figure out.
