xenarc woes - reddish tint
I've got a reddish tint all of a sudden on my xenarc screen. Was working fine, pulled it out last week to take it to the dealership for some work, got home and put it back together this weekend and now i have a reddish tint. I could wiggle the connector (old crappy kind) and it would go away. Now that isn't the case, but I did check the connector and all the solder pads are fine, I also redid the ground points on the ends just to make sure.
Any ideas before I go and buy another one?

I had a green tint on my LinITX screen that wouldn't go away - it needed a new controller board fitting.

try another cable 1st as they are fragile and if that doesnt help is sounds liek the connector on the board is damaged.
Test it more by connecting itup to an RCA input and see if you still get the red tint.

RCA inputs are fine, seems to be just the vga portion

in that case i am 99% sure it is the connector. xenarc may be able to fix it without paying for a new controller. Or find someone who can do small soldering jobs.

i can do small soldering jobs. (already fixed the damn thing once, god i hate that connector)
what should i be looking for though? everything seemed fine when I had it under the scope last night.
I'd actually rather connect wires to the board and remote mount a better connector somewhere.

Just thought I'd update this for the searchers.
Xenarc will sell you the controller board for $165 which includes the new heavy duty connector. This cost is for an exchange, you have to send them at least your control board back. Some monitors (depending on manufacture date) will require a new inverter also.
$165 to get the heavy duty connector is worth it IMHO!

not really, saves me from having to spend $400 on a new LCD, and this way I will have the newer plug which is key to these Xenarc screens. I take my screen out when I leave it at the dealership or auto garages for work so I work that connector quite a bit. Plus I might be able to get a USB touchscreen version now instead, no more having to deal with forgetting to install the USB -> Serial adapter drivers when I reformat the thing.
